American Greedfitti

Well. what can you say about politics, except greed knows no party affiliation.  As we come upon the Presidential election of 2012, things change, but they still stay the same or as The Who once said "meet the new boss, same as the old boss".

The Occupy Movement born out of anger over Wall Street shenanigans, is done.  Its message was that Americans are tired of corporate greed, no matter that most of the occupiers did not have a clue as to why they were occupying.

But their point, that greed is NOT good, was honorable.  How can a company as big as GE not pay any income tax?  How can we let the housing market collapse and not punish the people who caused the collapse and allow the same people to still be in power?  Questions that probably will never be answered.

On that faithful day in November, vote for the one party that can put the brakes on corporate greed, the party that will protect us from those that want to kill us, the party that will get out of the way of the economy, so it can grow...the party that America built...which one is that? We have 10 months to figure that out.

Hey don't want to wait on the politician, well then read this:

President and Football

You know I will be frank...I do not like a lot of the decisions and statements of our President of the United States (POTUS).  His actions indicate a desire to turn out country into a "gimme" society, where everything is handed to you...I was raised to work smart and hard and if I can do that so can others.   Now don't get me wrong, I give to charity and I hand out a dollar to the man/woman on the corner, if I have a dollar,  I just wish people had more of a work ethic than what I have seen in the past 10 years...and now onto football.

I am a Dallas Cowboy fan and I will be rooting for the New England Patriots in this Sunday's Super Bowl.  I just cannot make myself root for those New York Giants...and that is the way that it is. Go Pats!

And by the way, did anyone watch that Pro Bowl?  I watched two plays and one was more than I should have watched.  My gosh, the lineman hit each other one time and then just stood up.  Horrible!!!  The NFL should put on a skills competition, now that would be something.

The Pursuit of Happiness...Austin

Amazing...that is how I see it or shall I say her...her being my daughter of 12 years.  Like so many parents before me, I amazed at how something so little could get so big. It seems like it was only yesterday, there...standing behind my leg was a little girl.  Fast forward 10 plus years and my 6 foot couch will barely contain my 12 year old child...like I said before...amazing.  And yes she makes me happy!!!

And talk about amazing...this is really amazing:

New Carpet

Yes, new carpet...at work we are in the process of getting new carpet. Yes, so exciting. And with new carpet comes the task of packing up all my office crap in boxes and moving said boxes to a central location so the movers can stow all OUR stuff at a secure location. "All my office crap" includes computer, monitor, chair, books, pencils...you get the picture. It took me all day yesterday and a little of today to pack up everything. But, that is not all. We also have a test lab with more computers and rolling racks that also must be moved. And we did some of that yesterday and more today. Wow...all that for new carpet.

We did a lot of work for new carpet, but in a way new carpet is a good thing. Kind of gives us a fresh perspective on our surroundings. And that fresh perspective can help us in our life. So what is your "new carpet"? What events did you do to get that new perspective in life?

Anyway...this book is cool...give it a read:

Who Are You?

I wonder how many people actually work at something they call work??? I bet it is a high proportionate of us. I am envious of those people who don't work at work. Those few who play at work and really enjoy it. Sometimes I sit behind the keyboard and just daydream of what I COULD be doing and it feels so good. Hell, sometimes I even close my eyes and REALLY imagine it....I think they call it "not working", anyway that is something that I do. So what do you do? Are you Tim Tebow or are you Phred Smith or are you Lindsey Lohan? No matter who you are...do you enjoy your job? Drop me a line if you do... And one more thing, I found this cool website...check it out...it is a work in progress, but it is getting there:

By the way, last night I had a dream that I tried to trip a humongous deer, I mean it was huge...wonder why I was trying to trip it.

Tebow - Living Proof

I have just witnessed history and it is courtesy of one Tim Tebow. Tim Tebow is not supposed to make it in the the NFL, but someone forgot to tell Tim. He just rallied the Denver Broncos to an unbelievable overtime victory over the heavily favored Pittsburgh Steelers. Here is a guy who is too slow, who has a mediocre arm and mediocre quarterback skills in general but is winning at the highest level of football. In the world of business, there are times when people get promoted because of not what they know, but because of who they know. In professional football, that may get you in the door, but to keep your job you have to produce and Tim Tebow is producing. So the question is why? Why, because he believes in himself. . . I guess you can say that his "inner game" is at a high level. Here is a cool blog which talks about inner game. . . check it out:
